New USPS rates

May 14, 2007

Aloha~

As we were reviewing the new postal rates that went into effect today, and realized that the entire USPS rate sheet is 32 or so pages, we thought it would be helpful to provide you with a summary of the most commonly used rates in direct mail campaigns as a convenience for you. When we work on campaigns with you, we'll continue to include estimates on postage rates in our proposals.

If you'd like the full rate sheet from the USPS we're more than happy to send that to you as a PDF file. Just reply to this email or give us a call. You might find the new shape-based pricing and a few other items in the entire USPS document to be worth perusing "in your spare time".

This is probably a good time to remind you that because we are charged tax on postage, you'll see a tax on postage on your invoice from us when we print and mail for you.

Ok! Here are the promised highlights:

First Class Mail

Letters have gone up to $0.41.
Post cards are now $0.26 - the post card rate does not apply to oversize post cards, like 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 and beyond. The first class letter rate applies to larger post cards.

To your success,
